Sampler Quilt Top
In this class we will stress the importance of good basic sewing techniques, while introducing traditional piecing techniques. You will make lots of half square triangles, flying geese, snowballs, and other basic building blocks of traditional quilting. The first class session will explain how to plan your quilt and after that you will make one block per session. When class is finished, you will have a unique sampler quilt top ready to quilt and bind at home. Please bring any fabric you want to use in your quilt to the first class. During the first class we will help you to create a plan for your quilt top, and explain yardage requirements. To help you anticipate costs, you will need small amounts of colored fabrics for each square, plus approximately 3 yards of "framing" fabric and 2 1/4 yards of low-volume background fabrics to complete your quilt top. This class will make a beginner quilter into an intermediate quilter (for those who have taken Intro to Quilting and My First Quilt and asked "what's the next step"? This class is it!). All participants receive a 10% discount on fabric purchased at The Bee for this project.

Requirements:
You will need to provide or purchase fabric for the quilt top: time will be provided in class to plan and purchase fabric, and all attendees will receive 10% off purchases made in the shop for this class. While exact yardage for each square is too detailed to provide in this description, attendees can anticipate purchasing small amounts of varied fabrics for each square, plus 3 yards of "framing" fabrics and 2 1/4 yard of low volume "background" fabrics to complete the top.
